Effie Nanas Ballet presents: Enchanted Ballets
November 6 2011 Sunday, 5pm at Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (CCP Main Theater)
We rehearsed for 8 months or maybe more for a very special day to all of us. I remember the RT’s in twitter on how many weeks/days left before the very big day. (who else is guilty aside from me?! *EHEM* haha!)
The last time I danced was 7 years ago. yes, i stopped. but you know, something about it made me miss it so much. i just don’t know how to explain and put it into words. I never thought that i’d be back performing on stage again. heehee and it felt really awesome! like i’m home again. ♥
The production is composed of 2 parts: Snow White and Nutcracker (Clara’s Dream). Can i just say that the whole show is just WOW? from the props to the stage back drops and costume, everything was amazing and pretty. compared to the other recitals back then. HAHA and i got very emotional at the end. especially when we were all clapping for teacher Effie. #tearyeyed
So here are some photos from November 5 and November 6

Unfortunately, i have class tom. :| and it’s PE! I have Dance as PE. So, i’ll be dancing the whole day! 10-12 is my PE. Then i’ll go straight to Shang cause i have to assist 2 classes. After, we’ll have our class for 1 1/2 hours. Rehearsals right after the class. woohoo! i can do this! leggo!! \m/ good night! :D
looks like i’ll be wearing this… AGAIN. :)
Every time i see a picture of a ballerina or a pair of toe shoes, i definitely miss dancing ballet. It was my childhood. I started dancing when i was 4. I go to shangri-la edsa every weekend to have my ballet lessons. I had my first recital in the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). On my 10th birthday, my ballet teacher -teacher effie nanas-, told me that i can already wear toe shoes. That was her birthday present to me and it was one of the most memorable moment i’ve ever had during my ballet era :)). I can still remember the way she told me and i was sitting at her lap that time. So, when i bought my first ever toe shoes -capezio points-, damn it was painful. Really, really, painful. But after a few months, i got used to it. Then i got my 2nd toe shoes -Bloch is it’s brand- it’s the best points for me. The photo above is a test. You have to memorize an exercise/dance then you will perform it by group (6? people, i forgot) infront of Christine Walsh. After executing the exercise, she’ll call your name and you have to step forward and she’ll ask “what is -insert word here-? and kindly demonstrate.” ballet terms of course. But i only got highly commended. That’s the 2nd rank. I forgot the term for the highest rank. It was really cool. Unfortunately, i stopped dancing when i was 12 or 13. I got lazy. :)) and now, sometimes, i wanna go back to that studio and dance again and wear my ballet stuff. But i’m gonna be off to college next school year (i dont have a school yet ((: ) Although, i’m still gonna try. BUT it’s SAM’s (my 7 year old sister) turn to dance. It’s her spotlight now. :) I have a new dream to fulfill anyway. :p
